Eggoz is India’s first egg-focused consumer brand. The company, founded by Abhishek Negi, Uttam Kumar, Aditya Singh who are IIT-Kharagpur alumni, and Pankaj Pandey, intends to bring farm-fresh and chemical-free eggs for every health-conscious Indian. Eggoz works under a tech-enabled asset-light farmer integration model where company offers implausible support to local farm owners through an extensive network that facilitates the quick and smooth distribution of egg produce. Farmers with Eggoz receive holistic care including doctor support, input structure and market linkages.
Considering that most consumers buy eggs that are at least five to seven days old, Eggoz promises to bring protein-rich eggs from local farms to retailers within a span of 24 hours of laying. Consumers can now buy high-quality eggs that are not only fresh but also free from avoidable hormones, antibiotics, and chemicals. All eggs sold under the brand are UV-sanitized and made available at stores within 24 hours of laying.
Vision
Eggoz looks forward to enhancing protein consumption among masses by delivering farm-fresh, antibiotic-free eggs to direct consumers. Considering that eggs remain the most affordable and accessible source of pure protein for Indians, the company hopes to revolutionize the industry grappling with production, storage, and distribution challenges. Eggoz hopes to transform the operations of local farms and offer incredible support and resources for rural egg farmers. To achieve the same, the company intends to rely on advanced tech, data, and real-time monitoring to identify and work on deviations that impact the performance and production of local farms.
Preserving the nutritional value of eggs for its customers remains one of the core vision of Eggoz. Buyers can now access eggs that are not only fresh, but are of superior quality and also have high bioavailable nutrition. The company hopes to boost the profitability factors for rural farmers with dedicated support, use of tech, and expertise.
Mission
Eggoz aims to eventually expand its network to different parts of India to reach millions of buyers and thousands of local farms. The company also intends to streamline its onboarding experience for farmers, where they will get access to tech information, veterinarian advisory support, and other resources to improve productivity. With the motto of ‘Happy Hens, Healthier Eggs!’, Eggoz hopes to become the “Most Trusted Brand of Eggs” in the future.
Recently, the company has raised Series A funding of $3.5million, led by NABVENTURES. NABVENTURES is a VC fund anchored by NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development). Other funding participants include top names like Avaana Capital, Rebright Partners and Bellerive Capital along with angel investors Sanjiv Rangrass and Indresh Saluja.
For the future
The company is aiming to have significant pan India presence in the coming 2 years with brand and market development. Company plans to invest in building the category and spreading awareness about fresh and healthier eggs. Company plans to expand the technology and platform offerings to its partner farmers and support with more aspects of farming lifecycle.
The company has also launched the Pragati Poultry Farm Management App, which will offer all the support Layer Farms needs to grow existing poultry farming businesses. From tools to compare performance & net profitability to updates on egg rates (as set by the government) and weather updates, the app offers assistance to rural egg farmers.
Eggoz promises to bring protein-rich, antibiotic and chemical-free eggs for consumers while maintaining solidarity with rural farmers. Eggoz currently has a strong presence in the Delhi-NCR region, Allahabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Indore, Patna, and Ranchi. The company is expanding to the southern and western regions soon.
