10th May 2024, Maharashtra – Ketto, India’s leading crowdfunding platform, went beyond traditional gestures this Mother’s Day (May 12th, 2024) by hosting a powerful and uplifting event for a community of women in collaboration with Prem Seva Mahila Mandal – A NGO primarily focuses on the uplift of the downtrodden: Women & children of the lower middle-class group, Widows and Domestic workers. Recognizing the mental and emotional burdens mothers often shoulder silently, Ketto aimed to raise awareness about mental health while bringing a smile to their faces on their special day.

The centrepiece of the event was a screening of the acclaimed Marathi film, “Bai pan Bhari Deva” (The Woman Who Carries the Burden). This moving film delves into the everyday struggles and quiet strength of women as they manage their families. The film’s portrayal resonated deeply with the audience in Kalyan, sparking conversations and a sense of shared experience among the women. Many attendees found themselves reflected in the characters’ journeys, enriching a sense of connection and understanding.

Varun Sheth , Co-Founder & CEO of Ketto, emphasized the importance of acknowledging mothers’ unseen sacrifices. She stated, “Mothers are the cornerstones of our society, and they deserve our recognition. This campaign was our way of honoring their strength and the mental burdens they often carry silently. By creating a space for open dialogue and shared experiences, we hope to empower mothers and prioritize their well-being. By partnering with Prem Seva Mahila Mandal, an NGO dedicated to supporting women and children from underprivileged backgrounds, widows, and domestic workers, this campaign has the potential to reach even more mothers who need our support and a sense of belonging.”

Kunal Kapoor, Co – Founder of Ketto, echoed this sentiment and expressed appreciation for the positive response. He said, “The outpouring of gratitude from the women in Kalyan was truly heartwarming. Seeing their smiles was the greatest reward. We hope this initiative inspires others to celebrate mothers in a more holistic way, recognizing their strength and resilience while promoting their mental and emotional well-being.”

Following the film screening, Ketto hosted a delightful meal box distribution, playing games and having fun with them adding another layer of joy to the Mother’s Day celebration. Ketto’s gift wasn’t just entertainment; it offered a heartwarming experience for the mothers. It was a way of saying “Thank you” for all the quiet, selfless love. A gift for the women who hold families together, even when their own needs go unheard. It was a moment that melted away the everyday worries, a reminder that they’re cherished, not just needed.

Ketto’s Mother’s Day campaign stands as a unique and heartwarming example. It highlights the importance of celebrating mothers beyond traditional gifts and focuses on their emotional well-being and the creation of supportive communities.

On this occasion, Ketto extends a heartfelt thank you to all mothers across the globe. We celebrate your unwavering love, dedication, and strength. You are the foundation of our families and communities, and we are eternally grateful for the countless ways you enrich our lives.
